I felt every nerve, implant and drop of blood boil like water and every individual piece of me, that defined me and made me who the demi-gods of eve knew me as turn to ash. The implants separated from my body painfully pulling small chunks of me apart, I saw a burning bright white light scorch my eyes to a point where I was almost blind, and even tho I felt myself decaying in my own hands I was still utterly determined to steer my ship and cargo towards the Alsavoinon system, the blood spilling from my separated limbs covered most of the navigation systems preventing me steering in a straight course.
Even through this I felt my ship being pushed by the sheer velocity of the missiles hitting all sides of my ship, the sound of metal bending and breaking broke through one of my ears to the other sending a pulse of adrenaline with a loss of sound. I wasn’t even able to scan who opened fire as this all happened in mere seconds but at that point I knew I should of checked the courier contract I accepted. The taste of blood, sweat and the heated air mixed with burning metals deterred me from trying to save the cargo, instead it created such a strong feeling of confusion in me I just stayed in my pod while my ship was falling apart around me. I heard various parts land on the pod I was sat in, scratching the tritanium the pod was built of. I felt fear pull me backwards, I had no idea what was happening, if I would get to glance at the Aidarts system’s beautiful sun or if I would ever taste quafe again. A destructive force pushed my pod out of my cruiser shattering the walls and condensed me into the left side of my pod, I managed to get a glance at the assailant, but the only defining feature was a tattoo of Caldari state military on the assailant’s face, on his right cheek. I wiped my blood off the navigation screen and saw a drone approach, I felt the cold of space with my own hands before I felt life leave my body..
I awakened, kicking and screaming with little memory at first as to why. I could feel my lungs filling with air and my body defrosting. As memory started to kick back to what just happened in a completely different system I realized I was my clone who was a grade Epsilon. I pushed the door open and fell to my knees as moisture from the freezing process soaked the various metals and tingled all the nerves in my legs. As I looked around, the station was dark and empty, I recognized some defining features that told me I was in the Aidart federal defence union logistic support station. Gallente flags that used to proudly wave were ripped and spread all over the metallic corridors of the station. I regained some measure of control to my feet and explored the station, attempting to discover why Aidart, a place so close to home was offline, as I continued looking around and saw docking bays with equipment destroyed, it became apparent this station had been raided by someone.
I moved to docking bay five hundred and thirty four where my Taranis was supposed to be stationed, but as I arrived, the bay was empty and something seemed odd, nothing was broken, destroyed and the area looked relatively untouched compared to the rest of the station. I approached my locker and pulled out some clothing to dry the water that dripped from around my legs before slowly putting trousers on and pulling a vest over my head, but as I did I noticed a blur as I looked through my vest and out into space from the docking bay, I pulled my shirt over fully before noticing it was my Taranis wedged near the hangers doors, I immediately knew I had to leave the station using my ship as the danger could well still be present and after suffering a recent death I was not ready to experience the emotional and physical turmoil again.
I approached the ship, climbing over a few misplaced boxes before hearing the words
“Freeze in the name of the Gallente Law”
I turned round, and the guard immediately knew I wasn’t whoever he was looking for, he apologized and hastily suggested that we left the station in the Taranis.
As I entered the ship and fired up the engines, I heard distant voices, and the guard quickly shouted “Leave the station now!”
With the sound of small arms fire behind me I was more than happy to obey the order.
I fired up one of the hybrid rail-gun turrets and locked onto the stations doors, before opening a way through into space and immediately entering warp as a Caldari battleship was in plain-sight and moved towards the station, we were locked onto before we had even left the station! But thankfully their warp disruptor’s were not online, although we received heavy fire before escaping towards the Stacmon star system that would need some attention too, but at that time all I did was vow that I would get revenge on the Caldari, they had a lot of blood on their hands, even my own..
